In her book “The Energy of Money,” Maria Nemeth, an executive and life coach, talks about what to do when you are feeling stuck or don’t know what to do next – something that happens to all of us from time to time.
She recommends finding one or two promises or commitments that you haven’t kept that are hanging out there in the shadows of your conscience and COMPLETE on them. This could be a promise to yourself or a promise to someone else. It doesn’t matter.
I have found that the more I complete on my promises, the more success I experience and the more in the flow I feel. It’s a way for me to build trust in myself and others pick up on it and trust more in me, too.
Every incomplete promise is like a pebble or stone that you carry around in an invisible backpack. When you collect a bunch of incomplete promises, you feel weighed down and unable to move freely, but you can’t see why.
Completions create space for something new to arrive and open up – a possibility you hadn’t seen before, a message you hadn’t heard before, a possibility that wasn’t available to you before.
So next time you are feeling stuck, open your eyes and take a look around at an incompletion that has been hanging out there for a while and commit to fulfilling the promise quickly and decisively. I bet you’ll feel a weight lift and be able to move forward with renewed clarity.
