A couple of weeks ago I got to watch a group of purpose-driven women come into my sold-out Speak to Profit Live Intensive feeling a bit nervous, yet wanting a big change in their business. Over the course of the 2 ½ days, the transformation that happened before my eyes was nothing short of remarkable. Yes, they crafted their content-rich Signature Talks that lead naturally and authentically to sales, but more importantly, they got in touch with the real juice that makes standing up and speaking out worth the squeeze. I want to pull back the curtains just a bit and show you what I mean.
Most of the clients I work with are women in coaching or consulting – type professions or authors building a business around their books. They are the business. They provide the service. They create the products. Because they are the business, it’s not uncommon for issues of worthiness, self-value and self-doubt to come up and start healing in my courses.
They also learn that when they offer their services coming from a place of service, integrity and authenticity, they actually support their ideal clients in achieving the success they desire in their health, their wealth and their relationships.
So what can you do to get the juice with a gentler, more spiritual squeeze? Here are a few suggestions that will help you share the value of what you have to offer coming from a heart-centered place and help your audience or prospects invest in themselves in a profound way.
Be Real – Let them see you.
When you show your bumps, bruises and scars (your humanity), as well as your gifts and talents (your expertise), they love, trust and want more of you.
Trying to hide your insecurities or your brilliance never works. You may come off looking polished and professional, but you won’t create a personal connection, and that’s what wins hearts. Instead, tell the truth, openly and with a sense of self-acceptance. And I don’t mean telling everyone how nervous you are. I mean acknowledging that you’re not perfect and that you’ve been squeezed pretty hard, too. Today’s business culture is starving and ready for that kind of conscious and “real” personal engagement.
Champion Their Dreams – Help them see what is possible.
Unconsciously, your audience is yearning for you to be an advocate for their dream. How often are we surrounded by people and circumstances that nurture our dream? Not very. By you calling it out and taking a stand for it, they feel seen and validated – many of them for the first time.
Your audience needs you to help them see what’s possible – without hype or false promises. When you share your message, start by holding them in your mind’s eye as the precious human beings they really are – full of hopes and dreams, just like you – full of fears and doubts, just like you.
Get in touch with that part of your heart that can “see” them living the results that are possible through your programs and services, and paint that picture for them out loud. They need to hear it, feel it, imagine it and know that you are a steward of their dream. Because, as Suzanne Evans says, “the moment your prospect [audience] buys, is the moment they decide to change their life. And not just in a dreamy way. But in a committed way. In which they get behind their transformation with their entire being.” They start living into their potential and making their dream a reality. That is sacred!
Own & Share Your Gifts – Know that people need you.
When you acknowledge, value and appreciate your gifts and talents with humility, yet confidence, and express them through how you “be”, people will want to work with you because they will want to be in your vibration. They will want to be in your presence.
You are on this planet to share your gifts, not keep them hidden and out of service. Embrace and use them as your means of helping other people move forward. They came to hear you speak for a reason. Whether they know it or not, they manifested you and you manifested them. You, your message and your services may be exactly what they need to move them in the direction of their dreams.
Selling is so much more than closing the sale and when you bring your highest intention to serve and move people to change their life, it is sacred work.
